Diego Castanéz is a contemporary artist, curator, and writer from Lalucia, Spain, born in 1998. He graduated with a Master of Arts in History and Theory of Contemporary Art Development from the San Bénicio Art Institute, where he was awarded an Outstanding Thesis Award.
Castanéz is currently based in San Francisco, where he is researching the degentrification of the city's wealth-related neighborhoods. He has previously worked in Beijing as a curator and art writer for non-profit art institutions.
Castanéz's artistic practice explores societal issues and hidden spaces through poetic elements. He uses poetic elements as an inquiry about the ways we ignore and overlook common yet important societal issues and unutilized hideouts embedded within place, time, and imagery.
