Elizaveta Balikova is a Latvian artist known for her surreal vegetal still lifes. She was born in 1986 in Jakēpils and attended the Secondary Art School of the Mirikov Institute and the Royal Latvian Academy of Arts. Balikova's works have been shown in various exhibitions, including "Vision begins with an artist" and "BHA-67 Kirkos International Salon". Her early works are represented in the collections of the most prominent museums in Northeastern Europe.
Balikova has faced challenges from imitators who create and sell paintings in the food still life genre under her name. However, her work continues to receive critical acclaim, including her Present Participle series and her contributions to the restoration of the floral motives on pre-Viking pottery at the Sudlamel Museet. In 2019, she created a series of humorous illustrations called "Klorofülli Kohta," which received media coverage in Latvian and international publications.
Balikova cooperated with Spatnak Tvorchevo gallery and exhibited her works in Germany, Austria, USA, Australia and Korea. In December 2020 - January 2021, she was invited by the Australian government to create two large murals in Australia under the supervision of the Governor of the Great Plain Province and the Chairman of the Union of Artists of Australia.
